High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university preferred. Certifications as an ICC Building Inspector and ICC Energy Inspector – Residential or Commercial required within 6 months of employment. ICC Certification as a Mechanical Inspector or TSBPE Certification as a Plumbing Inspector must be obtained within one year of employment. Texas driver’s license, Class C required. One (1) to two (2) years of experience preferred in residential or commercial building and energy inspections, general building contracting and construction. Must have knowledge of pertinent construction codes and ordinances.
